I had a consultation in February for 3 wisdom teeth to be removed. My after-insurance responsibility was $747 to be paid on the day of my scheduled appointment for removal. It took me a couple weeks but I figured out where the money was going to come from and made the appointment for March 26th. Had my time off from work set up and my ride to-and-from the appointment squared away. About an hour and a half before I was supposed to arrive that morning the 26th, I get a call saying my doctor (Guraya) was going to be out and my appointment wasn't happening 😑 So I had to reschedule and arrange AGAIN my time off from work and ride situation. Next one was April 30th. I get there that morning, checked in, and was told my balance to be paid upfront was nine hundred and something dollars, a couple hundred more than my consultation! I did not have that! I showed the lady my paper with the $747 estimate and didn't understand what the other balance was so she took my payment for the original. When I got called back, the nurse did the normal questions checklist, took my glasses, and put the oxygen nose tube thing on my face. Guraya came in and I'd asked a question but his response came across in a snarky tone (I couldn't see his facial expressions bc I didn't have my glasses on) so I said ok nevermind. Separately from that question, I had asked if I could keep my wisdom teeth after the procedure. He said depending on if they had to be broke into pieces, then said you can look at them, or you can take a picture of them. Mind you I didn't have my phone on me bc everything was left with my ride in the waiting room. I got put to sleep for the procedure and as I was coming to, I got woken up to my teeth cleaned off and in a baggie in my face and Guaraya saying here's what they look like. I didn't have my glasses on still so I got a glimpse. I thought to myself cool, they're packaged up and ready to go. He didn't hand them to me, just showed them to me. So everything after that was a whirlwind blur. He had disappeared, I put my glasses on, my ride was retrieved, I got into a wheelchair to be rolled out on, some instructions were given to my ride. I had asked where the dr was bc I was going to say goodbye but I was told "IDK he's around somewhere", never to see him again. I felt like I was being hurried and rushed out before I could fully figure out what was going on. When I got to the car, I was looking through my supplies bag they gave me and realized I didn't have my teeth! I sent my ride back in to tell them they didn't give them to me only to be informed they were in biohazard trash and gone 😭😭 I was sooo mad 😠 I made SURE to say I wanted them, he had shown them to me, and within 10 minutes or so after waking up, I was rushed out before I could think straight. I had been looking forward to all of this and getting my teeth back. I've been SO upset ever since. I honestly feel dismissed and feel like he deliberately didn't give me my teeth. No one handed them to me or put them in my bag to go home. It sucks to go home empty-handed and feel like I did something wrong and second guess my actions, like it was my fault I didn't get them. I know it sounds silly to get worked up about teeth but this whole experience has left me feeling unsettled and disregarded. No one asked if I had any questions about anything or asked how I felt, just get up, get in this chair, and go. I'm just devastated 💔 😢
